Seems it took a lot longer than I expected for the amaryllis to bud and bloom, which started blooming mid February and continues to now, the beginning of March, but the blooms are quite spectacular. I was annoyed initially because the note that I had composed to be included in the shipment never appeared and the recipient had to ask among family as to who sent/gifted it.

Although the catalog shows a vivid red, the one we had was slightly softer in comparison, but still pretty.
I recommend the earliest order time during the holidays to potentially get blooms for Christmas... Ours bloomed almost mid February on the east coast of DE.
Still, a joy during the dark and dreary days of late winter!
